Designing widening zones

- Widening zones are another way that you can tweak your intersection designs. Let's take a look at how a widening zone can be used to create a turning lane. I've opened the lynda road model and chosen a proposal called widening. I'll make a copy of that proposal and I'll call it my widening. Next I'll choose the lynda road plan bookmark to get a top down view of the road, and then I'll pan and zoom to the intersection at the north end. I'll click within the intersection, making sure that the edit mode is set to geometry. That'll let me click again on the southeast turning zone so that I can see the gizmos associated with it because I want to use this very important purple cylinder gizmo to click and drag away from the intersection to create a widening zone. As soon as I do that, we'll see the new geometry appear. I'm not too concerned about exactly where I pick that point when I drag downward because I can edit all of that geometry.
