Getting data from the National Map Viewer

- If you don't have access to ModelBuilder, there are ways to get data to build the existing conditions of your model. In this video, we'll look at one of them, The National Map Viewer of the USGS or United States Geological Survey. I've opened my browser and I've gone to the viewer.nationalmap.gov website, The National Map Viewer. To begin, I'll type in the name of the area that I want to retrieve mapping data for. In this case, Carpinteria, CA. I'll type in the name, click Search, and the National Map Viewer will zoom me in to that area or it may provide a list of results that I can click on, and it will take me to that location. Now, that I've located the place on earth that I want to gather mapping data for, it's just a matter of telling the National Map Viewer which data I want. And that can actually be the trickiest part. The way I like to do it is this button here, Download Data. I'll click that button and then choose the Click Here to Draw and Download by Bounding Box. This…
