- [Lynda] When I was a little girl, I really, really wanted to get into modeling, but I'm short and I look absolutely nothing like Cindy Crawford or Kate Moss, so I decided to try a different type of modeling, the type of modeling where no one gets cross if you have some snacks whilst you do it. My name is Lynda Sharkey, and I'm here to hold your hand as you take your first steps into the world of parametric modeling. As newbies to Autodesk Inventor, we'll cover the basics of modeling parametric content for use in InfraWorks, from tweaking what's already there to starting parametric modeling content from scratch. We'll learn how to understand and navigate the differences in the modeling environments between InfraWorks and Inventor, we'll look at key parameters needed for infrastructure content to be consumed within InfraWorks, we'll create some generic content that can be used to enhance your project model, and we'll touch on some gotchas that may crop up so that you are able to get up and running as quickly as possible. I absolutely guarantee that this kind of modeling will not get you photographed on a runway, but who cares? Because by the time you're done here, you can model your own runway.
