Introduction to BIM 360

- [Instructor] In order to use InfraWorks with BIM 360 you need to be aware of a few things. The first thing is that at time of recording, which was July 2019, InfraWorks works only with the BIM 360 Document Management flavor of BIM 360. So BIM 360 Docs, not Design, not Coordinate, not Build. So if you wanted to share InfraWorks models to a company project cost management, you're out of luck. However, we can see that we have project setups and permissions. We have design and constructability reviews, which it gives us the ability to do markups and create issues, which is a very good place to start. Another very important thing to consider is that at time of release, InfraWorks supports BIM 360 Document Management accounts configured within US data centers only. Now this is very important. This can be a deal breaker for many, especially if you're working on government projects and the data that you're using isn't allowed to leave the country or EU. So, just be aware of that. There are two logins that you can do. So the American site is just admin.b360.autodesk.com. The EU is one is sneakily similar admin.b360.eu.autodesk.com. BIM 360 has a release cycle almost as rapid as InfraWorks and as of the end of February 2019, word on the InfraWorks forums was that the EU server support would be taking about another six months, but naturally don't quote me on this. So if you already set up BIM 360 on EU servers, you'll either need to wait for support to be implemented for EU servers or you need to raise a case with Autodesk support in order to have them migrate your account to US servers for the meantime. It's not an easy thing to do, so it's something to be very aware of when you set up.
