- [Instructor] Now let's talk about materials quantities. We're following on from our previous exercise in which we drew this road and calculated the earthwork quantities on it. If you've zoomed out and gone to another place in the model, we are at bookmark number 10 quantities. So let's have a look at materials quantities. Grab your road, and you can see that we still have the cut and fill in our little widget over there. Hit the materials quantities button, and a little panel will show up. Before we go any further, let's just talk about the things you can and can't do with material quantities. Now, this is a rough approximation of the materials you'll be using for a given road. Materials that can be quantified include road components, so curbs and gutters, the lane surfaces, things like city furniture, manholes, even trees, that type of thing.
