What you should know

- [Instructor] Welcome everybody and before we dive in at the relatively deep end with InfraWorks Traffic and Mobility Simulation, I'd like to go through a couple of key points that you need to know about this course. The first is that I assume you are familiar with InfraWorks. I assume that you know how to create a road. What the difference between a component and a planning road is? I assume you know how to navigate and where all of the commands are. If you do not, if you're completely new to InfraWorks then what I do is I suggest you go back to LinkedIn Learning and you check out Gordon Luckett, InfraWorks 2021 Essential Training course. He's done a great job at giving you a great foundation for this particular course. The second thing that I needed to tell you was that this course comes with a set of files. It comes as a zip file and it's called InfraWorks 2021 Traffic and Mobility. All you do is you download that and you extract it to a file called InfraWorks 2021 Traffic and Mobility and you'll be good to go. The third thing I wanted to talk to you about was that you'll see that I'll be working in an InfraWorks trial. I do this with all my courses simply because I want to make sure that whatever I'm doing is available to people who may not have access to a full license of the software. So if you're, just sitting at home, learning it or your particular education facility doesn't have an educational license, you can still do all of these things without missing out on any functionality. Another reason I do this is because sometimes things require cloud credits. Now in this course they don't but in other courses they do. And the last thing you want to do is burn through your organization's cloud credits when you're practicing new skills. So that's the reason we've done that. And then finally, I promise this the last thing, you may not see exactly what I have on my screen. And that's because we're clicking in different places. You know, your pedestrian crossing might be shorter than mine or longer than mine or you might type in different demand numbers. I don't want you to worry about creating exactly what I have done on the screen. What I want you to do is I want you to think about the processes that we're going through and how you can incorporate those into the work that you're doing every day. So without any further ado, let's model some traffic people.
