The collaboration scenario
- [Instructor] Let's start by having a look at the scenario we'll be using during this course. We have two organizations, Ingeo Expert and Sharkison. Ingeo Expert is a mid-sized AEC firm that has both InfraWorks and BIM 360 implemented. Sharkison is a micro-sized AEC firm that has implemented InfraWorks, however, they haven't yet worked with BIM 360. They need to collaborate on a project based in Fort Worth, Texas here's what happens. Ingeo invites the Sharkison admin to their BIM 360 account and project as an admin. Sharkison admin accepts the BIM 360 invite and sets up the Sharkison BIM 360 account. She downloads the data, uploads the first version of the model. Ingeo approves this first version as a start for the collaboration, now the collaboration within the Sharkison organization can start. The reason why Ingeo has invited only the Sharkison admin instead of everybody who'll be working on the project is two-fold. Firstly, Ingeo likes to maintain a high trust environment as opposed to a multi-trust environment. And secondly Ingeo only has 20 seats on their BIM 360 account and prefers to use one license on a high trust point of contact rather than a number of their licenses on collaborators in other organizations. In this way BIM 360 works a bit like a party. If you invite someone to your house, they're going to have to use one of your seats. On the Sharkison side, the Sharkison admin creates and administers the BIM 360 project, creates a project environment, and uploads data. The Sharkison members will then accept the BIM 360 invitations and download what they need. They will then make changes to the model and upload InfraWorks assets. The members will collaborate within the Sharkison organization and the final model will be uploaded to the Ingeo account by the Sharkison admin. Then Ingeo will review and share with stakeholders. Now this scenario is just one way out of literally thousands in which you can structure your collaboration environment, it's up to you to figure out what best suits the needs of your project or your organization.
