Mentioning others in comments
- [Narrator] In addition to leaving basic text comments on other people's photos and videos, you might occasionally want to mention other Instagram users by name. When you mentioned someone's username in a comment they'll receive a notification that they were mentioned. You might do this to draw someone's attention to a post you like to get their comments on it or just so they can see it. Or you might be replying to another user's comment on a photo. If you don't include their username in your reply they might not see your comment at all. By including their username they'll get a notification that they were mentioned and will be more likely to see what you wrote. Now, to do this you obviously need to know their username or at least part of it. First hit the comment button to leave a comment. Instagram uses a similar mentioning convention as Twitter if you're familiar with that. Start by typing the @ symbol, then start…
