- [Instructor] We can now look at how to create an offset work plane. You saw me create a few while I was in the introduction video explaining work planes and now it's your turn. On the screen, I have Work Planes.ipt open. If you don't have that ready, go ahead and open it now and what we'll do is we'll rotate to the backside. We're going to offset this face in a moment but before we do that let's take a moment to look at the work plane options we have. Under the 3D Model tab on the ribbon bar, under the Work Features panel, you have an option for plane. This is a split button. The top half is the default button and the bottom half exposes all the different options we have for creating work planes. Now, we're going to focus on the offset work plane for this movie and we'll look at some others as we move forward but what I wanted to call out here on this dropdown menu is the different types of work planes.
