- [Instructor] As I previously described, you can install IntelliJ IDEA either from the JetBrains Toolbox application or by downloading the software from this webpage. On this page, you'll find downloads for Windows, Mac OS, or Linux and you simply need to select your operating system and download the file. On Mac OS, you'll get a DMG file. Now I've downloaded this to my desktop and I'll open it up. And I'll find that the DMG file has an application package folder. From here, you simply click and drag into the applications folder and you've installed the application. Now I had already done that. So I'll go to my applications directory, I'll find the application and I'll start it up for the first time. You may see a security prompt, asking you whether it's okay to start up this software that you downloaded from the internet.
