Installing IntelliJ IDEA on OS X

- You can download the free community edition of IntelliJ IDEA from this website. Make sure you've selected the right tab for your operating system, and then the click the Download Community button. I've already downloaded the installer to my desktop. On Mac OS10 just click, and then drag and drop the IntelliJ IDEA binary onto the Applications folder. And after a few moments it should be copied over, and you can then double-click the application's folder and locate and start the software. If you have any trouble opening the software, you might have to upgrade one of the properties files. I'll show you how to do that in a moment. The first time you open IntelliJ IDEA, you might see this dialogue asking you whether you want to import settings from an existing copy of the software. I'm selecting "I don't have a previous version", and clicking OK. That takes me to this dialogue to customize the interface, and I'll click Skip All and Set Defaults. And that takes me to the welcome screen…
