Understand types of interview questions

- [Narrator] In a Java technical interview, there are thousands of different questions you might be asked, but most of these questions fall into a few different categories. These include questions on the Java language, perhaps your past programming projects and experience, and software development concepts, such as object oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, and more. However, the questions that are asked in a given technical interview really depend on the company's requirement, their interview process, and the personality of the interviewer. So be sure to get as much information about the interview process as you can from the recruiter so you can be prepared. In a given set of interviews for a role, you might have one interviewer that asks you questions about the Java language, while another that gives you questions about your communication skills or your leadership skills. In some cases, you may get one technical interview question with the whiteboard to write your solution on. This course is designed for you to be able to tackle any question that comes your way. In all of these scenarios, communication is key. You may have the best solution in your mind and be able to write it out in 10 minutes, but if you aren't communicating your thoughts or what you're writing on the whiteboard with the interviewer, you likely won't get the job. With remote jobs becoming more and more relevant, communication is so important. On the job, you aren't expected to go off and develop a given software product all by yourself. You work with a software development team to develop the product, as well as with product managers and other stakeholders. Someone once told me when going into a technical interview, act like you've already gotten the job. And this is your first project you are working on with your coworker. You'll still be nervous because it's your first project but it's a project that you're leading and you need to communicate with your coworker in order to create an efficient solution. Ultimately, being able to talk about your technical skills as well as showcase your personality is key to any interview.
