- [Instructor] This course was designed for software developers who want to use IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition to build their software products. IntelliJ IDEA was originally created for use with the Java programming language. But as I'll show you in this course, it supports a lot of other languages and platforms. Regardless of which language you'll be programming with, it's a good idea to get started with Java support because that's the product's origins. And I think you'll find that regardless of which language you'll be using, navigating the product and using all of its different tools is pretty much the same from language to language. If you want to get started with the language first though I do recommend starting with Java. And the very beginning course would be, learning Java. You'll also see that there are a variety of a central training courses in the library for various versions of Java. But once again, when you're first getting started just the beginning course will be plenty. And then you'll be ready to get the most out of this course about IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition.
