Conquering challenges: Move the Turtle

If Daisy the Dinosaur is the simplest of programming apps for kids, then the next step up in complexity and power might be Move the Turtle. Like Daisy, Move the Turtle is only available for the iPad, there isn't an Android version. And it isn't free. There is a small charge to purchase it. That once purchased, it can be used effectively by more than one kid on a single device. And like all iPad apps, can be installed on multiple iPads that are connected to a single Apple ID. Move the Turtle is a challenge-based app. In addition to simple commands, it lets kids learn about creating reusable command sets. What we might call a procedure, a function, or a method, in a complete programming language. When you touch the Play button, you get to the challenge screen. There's a fixed set of challenges.
