There are many programming languages to learn. And many ways to learn them. But one of the most popular and useful languages around is JavaScript. It's most commonly used to enhance web pages, since it's supported by all modern web browsers. But these days it's also used to build apps for cell phones and tablets, create server based applications, with technologies like node.js and much more. There are a lot of ways to get started with javascript. But for kids, one of the most interesting I've found, is this free website named Crunchzilla. It offers three learning environments, each targeted at a particular age range. For the youngest kids, you have Code Monster. For older kids there's Code Maven. And for those who want to apply their code skills to create browser based animations and games, there's Game Maven.
