Using an organizer to solve multistep equations

- In our next lesson we're going to solve multi-step equations. And just in case you're feeling a little overwhelmed I'm going to give you an organizer that's going to help walk you step by step through all of these equations. This is an example of a multi-step equation. And it looks pretty difficult. Notice that we have a lot of things going on. We have fractions. We also have the distributive property, notice the parenthesis in the equation. And we also have variables on both sides. So with all of these things going on it can be very confusing, and you may be asking yourself, "Where do I start? What do I do first? Does it even matter where I start?" And the answer is yes. It does matter. So we're going to use an organizer that's going to walk us step by step through solving this entire equation.
