Finding and researching your audience

- In order for people to want to give you money to make your film, they need to want to see the movie that you will make. The content of your film must connect with its audience. Once you identify that audience you will need to research them ahead of your crowd funding campaign to inform its structure and content. First, what is your audience interested in? What is the target audience spending entertainment dollars on and leisure time reading about? Some genres are easier than others. Sci-fi, fantasy and horror are all markets that come with enthusiastic followings that are open and hungry for the creation of new content. For example, with the Broken Continent we knew that the rise in popularity of fantasy films like Lord Of The Rings or shows like Game Of Thrones ensured that we had an eager fan base that might be open to backing our project.
