Using social media and other market outlets

- Social media is your greatest asset in crowdfunding your film. But you need to use it wisely. Here's some guidelines you should follow. Take advantage of as many forms of social media as possible. You want to be consistent across platforms, and take advantage of each of their features. You want to post frequently, but don't repeat. Always include a call to action, and post relevant content along with your pleas. Don't make them generic; help make it happen. Make them specific and unique. Tag appropriately. Use relevant hashtags, and tag appropriate people and places. You want to spread the word, but not spam or clutter up your posts. Create events. In addition to your kick-off and close-off parties, consider hosting virtual events, like Google Hangouts with the cast and crew, or an AMA on Reddit. Promote other films' crowdfunding campaigns. That might sound weird, but you want to participate in the independent film community. You want to attend their events, and help their promotion…
