Nobody's perfect. We all make mistakes. The thing that separates average employees from superstars is not who makes mistakes versus who doesn't. The difference is who figures out how to fix things the fastest. Granted, you don't want to make too many mistakes. But the point is that making mistakes is normal. It's what you do about it that makes all the difference. To make sure you get the most out of your mistakes. Be sure to keep these three rules in mind. First, when you are completely sure that something you've done is a mistake, admit it. Admit it to yourself, then with the team. If it's a truly trivial issue, there might not be a need to speak to others, just fix it. For any sizable error, you've got to own up to it, and that means no blaming others. Remember that blame is really just an acronym that stands for Barely Legitimate Almost Meaningless Excuse.
