- If I asked you to take a moment and review your job description, I bet there is one function you won't find and that's managing the behavior of your team. And even though it's not in your job description, that's exactly what you're doing. You often don't think in forms of behavior but we should. Behavior is the key to results, it drives the process and the people. And that's what we want to become skilled at, managing behaviors. Well, how do we do that? By understanding and implementing a simple management principle. Managing is really conditioning behavior. Now I don't know if you are a fan of going to the gym, I'm definitely not, but I am a former college athlete, and I can remember pre-season conditioning. As a volleyball player, our conditioning consists of all sorts of repetitive activities to get our sets and spikes just right and have the best defensive digs.
