- Very often, a promotion into leadership leads to distance, sometimes real distance. A new office, a new floor, new colleagues to spend time with, new perks, lots of new work, and bigger decisions. This is normal, but the cumulative effect is that your employees feel removed from you. Don't allow that to happen.
