- Collaboration. This word is featured in value statements of companies across the world. When people talk about success, they speak to the collaborative effort and this makes sense for a lot of reasons, including increased globalization and cross-functional efforts. Collaboration has become the catch-all term that people say when they mean, we need to get something done and we need multiple people to chip in. They say collaboration. We usually think people on calls, in meetings, or war rooms trying to solve a challenging business problem. There's a fundamental and, perhaps, even controversial question we should be asking, though. Should you be collaborating? It may seem like an obvious answer.
