Correcting distortion perspective with Geometry and Optics controls
- [Instructor] If you have a photo that looks geometrically distorted, Lightroom can help you fix it so it looks more realistic using the options in the geometry panel. Some perspective problems are due to the angle at which you shot a photo. For example, it's common that a building will look like it's leaning back like this red building here in Venice if you shoot from the sidewalk up toward the building. Let's see how we can fix this by tapping the geometry panel and then tapping just to the right of the word upright where it says off. That opens a menu of upright options and these will automatically try to fix perspective problems. The best approach to these is just try them one at a time. Auto often gives the best result so I'm going to start by tapping auto. Keep your eye on the photo and you'll see that it automatically straightens up.
