Adding tone to blown-out highlights
- [Instructor] Blown-out highlights in photographs have no tone or detail. If printed, the whites would take on the color of the paper. You can add tone to these areas with the Healing Brush. Activate the Healing Brush in Heal mode. Adjust the brush size. Paint over the blown-out highlights. Lightroom automatically selects a source area. Show the tool overlay if it's not already showing. Grab the source pin and pull it to any area that has continuous tone. Adjust the opacity. While not as good as exposing correctly in capture, this technique can save an image.
