- Hey, welcome to another episode of Photo Tools Weekly. Thanks for joining me. You know, the idea for the topic for this week's episode comes to us from Will in San Diego. Will and I got in an email conversation about this idea that sometimes in photography less is more. And that's exactly what we'll talk about here. Here, we're gonna look at how we can replace the background of a photograph in order to make it a stronger image. Well, are you ready? Well, let's begin. Let's begin our project by taking a look at how we can clean up some of the distracting elements. You know, eventually what I wanna do is I wanna get rid of all of the distraction in the background. And also the reflections of these pilings here. So, let's start off by working on that. We'll zoom in a little bit. Copy the background by dragging it to the New Layer icon. I'll name this new layer Clean Up. Next, press the L key to select the lasso tool, or just click on it. And what we're gonna do is just make a rough…
