- Sometimes the best way to retouch a distraction in a photograph isn't to erase it, but to cover it up with something that's already there. Well that's exactly what we're going to cover, in this weeks episode of Photo Tools Weekly. Are you ready? Well lets begin. Let's take a look at how we can improve this photograph of my daughter Elsie. Here she is in a swing up in the snow, and I like this moment, but I don't like the building in the background, right. And this happens all the time, where we have some elements we just need to get rid of. And with this project, we're gonna look at how we can start off by making a selection. What we want to do is make a selection right near the problem area. And that will just speed up our retouching work flows, you'll see in just a minute. A great tool for selections is Quick Select, press the W key to select that one, or just tap on it in the tools panel.
