Fixing basic exposure with Camera Raw
- A lot of times when shooting panoramic photos you're going to end up with exposures That's because you're dealing with a really wide subject and so what's going to happen is you might expose for part of the scene, Plus, maybe you've been standing out in the sun all day and your vision's a little bit off. Let's take a look at processing a couple of files. and let's begin by going into a basic recovery here. Now what I want to show you taking advantage of the raw recovery. and we can see our overlap here of the mountains. and I see a little bit of clipping here in the shadows for the blacks. So as those blacks continue to get darker you'll see the blue or cold pixels indicating a crushed black. So let's prevent that from going too far. Similarly, we can look at the whites here and if those get too bright indicating an overexposed pixel. So that looks pretty good. And what I can do here actually is play with the overall Contrast, which starts to push things out. is a good balance in…
