Highlight Alert enable
- Often in silhouette photography the camera is set to manual. But there is some problems with that. We can't always see exactly what our exposure is going to be and if we're going to have blown highlights. But however, there is a function that we can set that will alert us really quickly to see if we have blown highlights. So, let's go through the menu and make that change. Right here is highlight alert. Let's enable that feature. Now, this allows us when we take a picture, if it's overexposed it's going to show up with black and white blinks. That'll let us know that that part of the image doesn't have any data and it's overexposed and we won't be able to recover color from it. Let's see what happens if we take it to the extreme. If we overexpose so that the tree looks amazing and the grass does, the sky is going to be completely blown. It's blinking black so large. That means we're not going to get any data in those files.
