How do I remove sensor dust or spots?

- Depending upon the shooting situation you could end up with dust or sensor spots. Sometimes it's on the lens, sometimes it's on the sensor. Maybe you were changing the lens in a windy environment with some dust or debris. Or maybe there was stuff in your bag that got on to the front of the lens. In any case, it's ideal to fix this before you shoot. But sometimes after the fact you may still need to work with it. I found a photo here that was particularly, troublesome. It has a lot of spots for a variety of reasons. It was early in the morning and I hadn't checked my gear appropriately. Let's grab the erase tool here. And we'll choose the Heal option. Adjust the size of the brush. And just start to click. As you go through you can pretty quickly click on these to remove them. With each click it should take it out and find a neighboring area. If you need to, you can also paint a larger area and then drag it in to place. Don't be afraid to do more than one click if needed. If it doesn't get it the first time, sometimes a second pass could be helpful. There we go. Remember, just drag it to sample from the point that you want. By doing so, let's go ahead and leave that tool, you see we did a pretty good job of cleaning that up. If there's any areas that you missed you can go back through again and clean them. But now, it continues to use the raw data. So as we make refinements to the adjustments here, you'll see that those cloned and healed areas continue to hold up. So this makes it easy to refine the damage.
