Importing photos from a camera or media card reader into Lightroom

- If you need to import from a camera, that's pretty easy. There's really two ways to go about it. You can either connect your camera, such as your smartphone with a cable or a USB cable to a DSLR or mirrorless camera or use a card reader. Personally, I prefer the card reader because it's easier and faster. It allows for quick transfer and it doesn't tie up your camera. In this case, I'm using a USB-C card reader directly attached to my computer. You can use whatever connection type your computer offers, but try to favor one that's a bit faster. This'll speed up the process when you import. Take the memory card and insert it into the card reader. There is a right way and a wrong way. If you try to put the card in upside down or backwards, it generally will not fit, don't force it. Instead, make sure it easily slips into place. And with a simple push, it should lock in.
