Lightroom CC synced to Lightroom Classic

- [Instructor] Let's take a closer look at what happens with Lightroom CC photos that sync down to Lightroom Classic or what I like to call the southbound sync traffic. In the catalog panel, we see that there are now 53 images in the all synced photos right here. That's because I deleted one of 'em earlier. These are the ecosystem photos that were added with Lightroom CC on a desktop or mobile device. But remember that these images were added into albums when we imported them. Those albums end up in the collections panel in Lightroom Classic. I'll collapse the folders panel here so that we can see the collections panel beneath it. And then I'll open this so that we can read the name. Just click on this and drag it open, make it a little wider. And we see in the collections panel, there's a collection set that says from Lightroom CC. Inside of there are the albums that were created in Lightroom CC. In Lightroom Classic, the albums are called collections. All of these photos, I'll select this architectural abstract here. All of these photos were downloaded to this computer when sync with Lightroom CC was turned on. The default location for downloaded copies of photos is the pictures folder. And you might want to change the download location to an external drive or maybe a secondary internal drive if you have one. The pictures folder is part of the start-up drive and your large image files could fill it up pretty quickly. To change that default setting, we need to go to the preferences. On the Mac, the preferences is under the Lightroom in the menu. And on a Windows machine that would be found under edit. Here in the preference panel we're going to jump over here to the tab that says Lightroom sync. There's an option here to specify the location for Lightroom CC ecosystem images. So by default, with this off, they went to the pictures folder. I'm going to check this to turn it on and we can see that it's giving us the default location. And then I'm going to choose my external hard drive. And then we'll choose that. And now, any future images that are downloaded from Lightroom CC, we'll go ahead and close this out to save it. Any future images will get downloaded to that external hard drive. It won't move the images that are currently in the pictures folder though.
