Reducing noise with Camera Raw

Now, I'm of the belief that a bit of grain adds texture and character, so this is really a subjective adjustment. I do want to show you how to use some of the advanced controls inside Adobe Camera Raw, though, that you want in an image. Sometimes, if you shoot an underexposed image or, you could start to see a lot of noise. This particular image definitely has some noise, and as we brighten it up I expect it's going to get worse. Let's go ahead and press the Escape key here, to send them into Camera Raw. my suggestion is you view this at 100%. This is going to make it a lot easier to really judge what's happening, where there's both shadows and some highlights so we can better judge this. but it definitely brought out the noise as well. Let's back off the exposure slightly and play with the overall lift the highlights. It's looking better, but the noise is still definitely present, so to deal with this, I'm going to switch over to the Details tab. and you could adjust the mask. This…
