Securing the cable to the camera

Whichever cables you use, you want to make sure they're secure. You see, on the side of the camera here, it's pretty fragile. And you don't want to have a lot of tension put on these ports. So, you want to make sure that as you're connecting things, nothing's going to get damaged. So, to do this, you need to secure the cable. Let's start by opening things up here a little bit. I'll just pop that panel. There we go. And let's just pull this strap out of the way here. And you see we've got the USB connection. Line that up and I connect it. What you don't want happening is this cable to get pulled out. As tension's put on this cable, it's going to stress the port. More stress on the port, more damage to the camera. It's possible that if you crack this port, you'll have to send the camera in for service. Now you might be thinking I don't use the USB port that often. It's not a big deal. Cameras are super small and so cracking something over here means it's probably connected to another…
