- Hey, thanks for joining me in another episode of Photo Tools Weekly. In this episode, I want to share with you a few tips and workflow techniques for cropping your photographs inside of Photoshop. Now, you probably already know how to work with the Crop tool, but what you might know know is you can actually crop your images based on a selection. Let me show you how this works. Here we'll go ahead and choose the Rectangular tool in the Tools panel, then I'm just going to click and drag over the image and let's say I want to crop the photograph to this area that I've selected. Well, in order to do that, you have two options. The first option is to go to the Image pull-down menu and, here, choose Crop. When you make a selection and then choose Image and Crop, what it allows you to do is to crop an image to that boundary or that edge of the area of the photograph of which you've selected.
