- Metadata in a photo is very important. Metadata is effectively data about data. It's information about your files. And you've been seeing this in use. It's really quite cool. When you're working with Lightroom, remember, you can take a look at lots of metadata. If you open up these criteria's here, you'll see the ability to sort on different criteria like the GPS or the camera type. All of this was embedded. Keywords are things that we manually add, and this information is put into the file. Now, as you're working with an image here, it is possible to get lots of extra information. Instead of the keyword panel, I'll press I for info, here you see it brings up additional information about this particular photo, such as the camera that was used. I can go in and add a manual title and extra detail, notice here, it also has the ability to apply editing. So if you need to, you can change the date and time if…
