- Alright, so in this next scenario I want to take a look at how we can use a telephoto lens, this is a 70-200, and I'm gonna shoot it at 200, that's why our subject is really far away down there, and the reason why I want to do that is I want to compress the scene. When you have longer focal length lenses what it does is it makes it look like the background is closer to the subject than it really is. So I'm gonna create a couple of different photographs in this scenario, and then I'll also change my camera height so we can see a different camera perspective as well. So let me start up here with this straight on perspective, and with this one I'll also start, I should mention, I'll start maybe at 70 and then I'll go to 200, so you can see the difference. Alright, well here we go, and let me just make sure I'm focusing and I need to level my horizon, so let me just do that a little bit, okay, take that shot there.
