- We need to get microlearning. We need more gamification. We need to include virtual reality. Does this sound familiar? It's not surprising if it does. Business leaders and learning practitioners are quick to jump on the latest technology trends. Essentially you're looking to the technology as the solution to the learning issue and not addressing the actual problem itself. Here are a few ways to align Elearning to core business needs. First, understand the business. Your learning solutions exist solely to serve a business purpose. When I get involved with a client's learning efforts, I learn as much as I can about the organization and why they exist. Gather anything that'll provide you to know more about the organization's primary business goals like a business plan or if it's a public company, annual reports.
