Joining the online conversation

- [Instructor] Learning is a continuous process, which continues to evolve. In the same way that your intelligence is not a fixed level, the global body of knowledge is also growing. Each day, new discoveries are made, new technology is released. And we, as a human race, are adding to our collective knowledge. Technology, social media, mobile devices and more, have made it incredibly easy to connect, communicate, and collaborate with people from around the world. I highly suggest taking advantage of this, and being part of the larger conversation about the topics that you're learning about. There are so many ways to be part of the bigger conversation. Some examples include: staying updated through LinkedIn feed, but rather than being passive, be active. Share interesting articles that you come across, post your own articles on LinkedIn, sharing what you're learning. One of the most powerful and effective ways to truly understand something is to teach it. Write an article or create a video and post it in your LinkedIn feed. Now, if you're like most people, you don't think that others care what you have to say, but that simply isn't true. Share your insights, your wisdom and your knowledge. When on LinkedIn, ask questions, or ask for feedback from your network. You'll be amazed at how awesome and willing people are to help out. And then, vice versa, answer other people's questions, and give other people feedback. Join LinkedIn groups on specific topics, and join in on the conversation. Another great feature, new to LinkedIn Learning, is the question and answer section of many courses. This is a great opportunity for you to ask questions of other people watching the same course. And, equally important, it's an opportunity for you to answer other people's questions, and stand out as a knowledgeable and helpful person. So here, I'm going to click on this course, Influencing Others. - Yeah, odds are you-- - [Instructor] Once inside, I'm going to go up here to the tab where we have our contents, and next to this is Q&A. So once in here, you can see that people can ask questions, and then other people can reply with their answers. So I highly suggest getting involved with the question and answer forum, whether you have questions or you have advice to give. If you're not connected, you're disconnected. I recommend being an active learner, connecting with other like-minded people and being part of the conversation moving forward.
