- Let's say you're the elearning project manager meeting an internal client for the first time to discuss elearning course requirements but what gets left out of the actual conversation is what the actual user, usually the employee, expects from learning. An employee's first need is the need for speed. People want immediate answers. There are many reasons for this but most relevant is the pressure to get things done fast and thoroughly. One of my client's purchasing department decided to implement a new logistics software. They provided introductory training but left out how they would support the employees' additional questions. After unfulfilled requests for additional support, employees turned to online resources like Google and YouTube. Our first instinct when facing a problem is to seek out answers through other sources but one thing is certain. We want answers quickly.
