- Artists, ideas, products, and even vacation destinations can be trendy for periods of time. When they are, they might be called a fad. Some may group e-learning into this same category, because of its rise in popularity over the past few years. But when you take a look at the value e-learning can bring, I think you'd agree that it's here to stay. However, e-learning is not a one-size-fits-all answer to your teaching requirements. To start determining if it's right for your purposes, consider your learners and their needs. Think about the responses to the following questions, and feel free to pause the video if you need extra time or want to take notes. What is the environment of your learners? Are they in their dorm rooms? In a library? On the go? What is the course load of your learners? Are they strapped for time? Or is there enough study and course time built into their schedules? How do they like to learn? Do they learn by doing, watching, reading, playing? Also, what is the nature of their learning experience? Is it project-based? Do they work in groups or as individuals? So now, keep these answers in mind as we explore the core benefits of e-learning. One benefit of e-learning is that it provides convenience. Learners can usually access a learning platform from any device wherever they have access to the internet. Also, e-learning offers personalization. Learners can be self-paced and adapt the content to their own learning style. As you start to consider e-learning and what LinkedIn Learning has to offer, make sure you return to the learner. Put yourself in their shoes and ask, is this an ideal learning experience for them?
