The featured section of your profile gives you an opportunity to feature some of your work. In this video, learn how to add the featured section to your LinkedIn profile.
- [Instructor] If you followed along in the course so far, then you have a solid foundation to your LinkedIn profile. In this chapter, we'll take a look at some ways that you can take it to the next level. The first way is to take advantage of the newly designed feature section, where you can feature examples of your work. Now, I know this lends itself better to some industries, more so than others, but if you had the ability to showcase some examples of your work, I recommend doing it. Show people what you're capable of. So let's take a look at how to add this featured section on Julie's account. Now, if you had an account in the past, you may remember that you used to be able to do this in your summary section. So at the bottom of your summary, you could add in files or media. Now, in this case, they've changed it and upgraded it to this additional feature section. So in order to add it, I'm going to click on Add profile section. Then here, under Featured, you'll see that there are four options. You have the ability to feature posts that you've had on LinkedIn, articles you've written on LinkedIn, or you can add links, as well as media. So, let's say for example, that we actually do have something we want to share here. So Julie has an animated logo that she designed when she was an intern at Red30 Tech. So she wants to share this example of her work. In order to do so, I want to click Share, copy that URL, I'll navigate back to Julie's account. And from the list here, I want to select Links. I will paste that link in there, click Add, and this is what it will add. It will add this image as well as the title. And then she can leave a description as well. I'll just put a sample in there. And once you have that done, you can click on Save. Now we should have that saved. And if I refresh this, you'll see that if we scroll down, beneath the About section on Julie's account is that featured section. And right here is a featured example of her work that people can check out to see what kind of work she does. I want to switch over to my account real quick, just to show you how this looks, once you start to add some things. And this is a great example because I have a few different types. Now, down here, I featured several things. I featured my video for the learning LinkedIn course, as well as learning LinkedIn for students. Those are examples of my work. If you keep navigating over, I have an article that I posted on LinkedIn, about tips and tricks. I also have Global School Play Day, which I'm passionate about. So you have all these different things that you feature, that people can check out to see what it is that you do. I recommend taking advantage of the featured section. If you have stuff there that you can show. If not, once you do have something, share it.
