Job alerts

- [Instructor] As I mentioned earlier, when you do a job search on LinkedIn, that search will automatically be saved. You can access those saved searches by navigating to the jobs tab up at the top. Now, I'm going to open this here in a new tab. And then we'll take a look at it. This is the jobs page. And from here, I can see any job searches that I've performed. They're right here. And I can quickly access those searches by simply clicking on it. I do that, and it brings me back here. Now I want to go back to my original tab because I want to point something out. And that is that I took a lot of time here to enter in specific filters. If I click on all filters, I entered in ones for the job type. I want it to be full time. The industry. Job function. Information about the salary, benefits, and so on. Now maybe there aren't any jobs I'm interested in right now, but I want to check from time to time. Well, instead of having to go back in and enter all of this information again, this search will be saved, and I even have the ability to turn on job alerts. Now at the top-left, you'll see here, that it says the search, program manager in San Francisco Bay. And it tells me I have 132 results. However, over to the right, we have job alerts. And by default, they're turned off. However, I'm going to go ahead and turn this one on. Now, when I do that, it tells me the title of it. And then below I can decide if I want to receive alerts either daily or weekly, I'm going to keep mine at daily. And then you can decide if you want to get notified by email, notifications, or both. I want to click both. Now when I'm done, I'll go ahead and click save. And I've now saved a job alert. So anytime that a new job arises on LinkedIn that fits within these parameters, they will notify me. To the right of this job alert toggle, you'll see this gear icon. And if you click on it, it will show you all of your job alerts. At any time, you can get rid of one by clicking the trash icon, and delete it. You can also edit it by clicking on the pencil icon. So take advantage of these job alerts as a way to stay on top of new jobs that surface within your parameters.
