Mining your inbox

- [Instructor] While this training has been about employee branding, the fact is, we use employee branding, marketing, selling with LinkedIn and other social selling strategies to create more sales conversations and build our business. And since many of your employees generate revenue for your company, you don't want them to miss out on opportunities on LinkedIn. Three areas on LinkedIn that they might have opportunities just waiting for them are in their notifications, messaging, and within their network. So let's take a deeper look at those three. First of all, notifications. This is where LinkedIn lets you know that people have been engaging with your profile in some way. So searches you've been found in, or people having an anniversary or a birthday, people who viewed your profile or people who've engaged with your posts or articles. All of these things are going to show up in notifications and every single one of them is an opportunity to engage. It's only going to take a few minutes a day to click on notifications and respond to these prospects. Now the second area that's usually full of opportunity is your messaging inbox. If someone reaches out to you through messaging, it's usually to ask a question, to try and sell you something, or to say hi. And sometimes there are messages that can lead to more business opportunities. The third place I want to show you is my network, and this is where your invitations live, both the ones that you've sent and the ones that you've received. I cannot tell you how many times I've opened this up with a client for the first time and there are thousands of invitations, many of them from prospects, current clients, and past clients. On LinkedIn, when you're first level connections, it's so much easier to engage. So it's important that you check your network and check for those invitations. You don't have to accept them all, but you should definitely review them to make sure that there's no missed opportunities there. And this is also where you're going to go to see all of your connections. So these are just a few extra tips as far as engaging on LinkedIn and why your employees might want to utilize these different features. They not only help you build your brand, but of course, might help you to build your business too. And let's face it, that's really what this whole thing has been about.
