Why is video on LinkedIn important?

(laughing) (somber music) - So why is video important in general? Well over one million minutes of video are shared per second and over 80% of all content consumed on the internet is video. That means that people are watching videos more than they're reading your status messages, sorry. More than they're reading your blog posts, also sorry. So you want to make sure that you're creating video content because that will get you seen and that will increase engagement for both yourself and your brand. I'm Goldie Chan and I'm the top LinkedIn video creator on the platform. (cheering) I have over two million views of my content alone and I fully believe that LinkedIn video is the future. I want to share with you all the tips, tricks, and learning lessons that I picked up along the way. So LinkedIn has over 500 million users globally. And of those 500 million users, over 250 million users login monthly and of those 250 million users, over 90% say that they use videos to make product purchasing decisions. So, if you're creating videos on LinkedIn, you'll get to capture that captive audience. Videos uploaded onto YouTube and then shared as a link on LinkedIn already show a 75% increase in engagement, so think about it. Videos uploaded natively onto LinkedIn, show an even higher amount of engagement and even higher percentage of engagement, so I suggest that you try uploading native videos onto LinkedIn. And you can capture more of your amazing consumers, customers and super fans. (snapping)
