The role of your website in social media
- [Instructor] Social media is great in sharing what I call creative hors d'oeuvres. Small bite-sized posts and visuals that can share insight into a creative process, foster curiosity and invite people to get more information and view the full project on your personal website. Because of this, you want to make sure you have your website domain included in your social media accounts profile. That way, if someone wants to see more of your work, they can just click on your website link in your profile and visit your site. This is important because not all social media platforms allow URL links within the post. Social media is best leveraged via what I call the sandwich board principle. In the early days of business promotion, a company would hire a person to wear a sandwich board, as shown here, and walk up and down the sidewalk near their business to inform people about who they are, what they do and where to find them.…
