- [Narrator] Most modern operating systems, including Linux, support assistive technologies for users with hearing, speech, vision, or mobility impairments. Assistive technologies include applications for keyboard navigation, on-screen visual keyboards, screen readers, speech synthesizers, as well as visual and audio alerts. For those wanting easier to read and or higher contrast text we can change to a higher contrast view of the desktop, and or one with larger text. To do so, go to applications, system tools, and then settings. Now click on universal access. This dialog has many things we can change. Click on high contrast to switch themes. This makes all of the shading go away and even changes the icons of the desktop. We can also click on large text to make the fonts everywhere much larger.
