- [Instructor] LVM supports RAID five and six as well as others. We're going to create a RAID five in this video. We need to clear out our previous volumes and partitions to make room for our new RAID five. First, let's turn off swap for our slash dev slash sdd1 partition which we'll use in the array. Type in sudo swapoff /dev/sdd1 and hit enter. Type in your password if prompted. Now let's edit the Etsy fstab before we forget. Type sudo vi /etc/fstab and hit enter. Go down to the /dev/ssd1 line and hit your D key twice to delete it Save by pressing escape colon X exclamation point and hitting enter. Now let's remove the vgmirror volume group. Let's first ensure it's not mounted. Type in clear and then type in sudo umount /dev/vgmirror/lvmirror... and hit enter. Now let's remove it. Type in sudo vgremove vgmirror and hit enter. It will ask if you want to remove the vgmirror volume group. Say yes. It will then ask if you want to remove the lvmirror logical volume. Say yes again. Verify…
