Creating and using an installation disk

- [Instructor] In order to install Fedora natively, or directly, on a computer, we'll need to make an installation disk to boot from. To do this, we have a few choices. we can use the dd tool to write it directly to a disk. Or we can use tools that do this for us, like Rufus on Windows. But Fedora offers the Fedora Media Writer, a purpose-built tool for creating a Fedora installer. I've covered the other two methods of creating an installer in other Linux courses, so if you want to do those, check out those courses. Here, we'll use the Fedora Media Writer to create an installation disk in order to install natively on another computer. Of course, if you don't need to install natively, if you're happy with your virtual machine, you don't need to follow along here. But, I want to show you how to use the software in case you do need to create an installer. I'll visit the Fedora site and then I'll click Workstation. I'll click Download now, and here at the top of the page, there's a link…
