- [Instructor] Gnome 3 presents a very different workflow. One of efficiency that is worth getting to know. In many other operating systems, there would be a window list at the bottom of the screen to allow you to switch between running applications. Gnome 3 uses the overview mode to switch between applications, so the extra space at the bottom of the screen can be used to make program windows larger. Gnome 3 uses every last millimeter of screen space for applications. If you miss the window list, showing all running applications, you can install a Gnome extension called window list, which does the same. Turn it on using tweaks by going into overview mode and typing in tweaks, and hitting enter. Now click on extensions in the left pane, and then turn on the window list extension.
