- [Instructor] It's fairly easy to utilize remote desktop using X Windows on Linux. For this exercise, you'll need to have both of your CentOS VM's booted up. In my case rhhost1 will be the local host, and rhhost2 to will be the remote host. Make sure you changed your VM network settings over to bridge in the CentOS 7 lab setup video, at the beginning of this course, or this will likely not work. For remote desktop using X Windows, the system on which the application is being run, must be configured to allow ssh access. Remember that the application runs on the remote CPU and it's Gooey is brought back for a localhost. Before we can run an application remotely, we need to check the remote host ssh server configuration file. This will allow us to log into the remote host, then start a Gooey application and have the graphical interface, come back through the SSH tunnel. There are some settings that need to be in place,…
